Welcome all new and returning students.
The Academy offers in-home or studio music instruction throughout the Lower Mainland and surrounding regions. Having music lessons in your home has been ideal for many families and individuals and therefore is a primary focus of this academy.
Lessons are available Monday – Saturday for most instruments and theoretical subjects.
One has the choice of weekly or bi-weekly, individual or group lessons – making lessons very affordable for most families.
Group lessons usually consist of 2 students for a 45 or 60 minute lesson, making it ideal for neighbours, friends, or siblings to learn together.
Schedule for lessons is based on teacher availability. Every effort is made to give you a suitable time.
The Academy welcomes students of all ages and abilities from age 3 to adult. There are a variety of music programs and forms from classical to popular or jazz to modern, and all grades from beginner to advanced, including diploma level.
Each student is welcome to participate in concerts and social activities sponsored by the Academy. As well, the Academy offers preparation to students planning for festivals, competitions and examinations. Concert venues have included the Fletcher Challenge Canada Theatre, Koerner Recital Hall, Performing Arts Theatre, and others alike.
The Randolph Balzer Scholarship is annually given to a deserving student or students that have made remarkable achievements in their music studies. This award is usually presented at the June concert. Anyone that is interested in helping fund this award should contact the Director.
